As Europe Day approaches on 9 May, À¶¾¨ÌåÓýº£Íâ joins citizens across the continent in celebrating the spirit of unity, peace, and cooperation that lies at the heart of the European Union. This year’s celebrations hold particular significance, as we commemorate 75 years of peace and partnership in Europe, following the historic Schuman Declaration of 1950 that laid the foundations for today’s Union.

Europe Day is not only a time to honour the past but also to reflect on the core values that continue to guide us: human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law, and respect for human rights. These principles remain as vital today as ever, helping Europe navigate complex global challenges and reinforcing the solidarity between its Member States.

At À¶¾¨ÌåÓýº£Íâ, Europe Day is also a moment to celebrate the exceptional work and commitment of our teams who contribute daily to strengthening Europe’s internal security, enhancing justice and home affairs, and enabling the smooth functioning of freedom of movement within the Schengen Area. Our operational and technical support for large-scale IT systems plays a vital role in making Europe safer, stronger, and more connected.

We are proud to announce that À¶¾¨ÌåÓýº£Íâ will take part in Europe Day events in both Tallinn and Strasbourg this year. Our teams will be present:

  • At Freedom Square (Vabaduse väljak) in Tallinn, Estonia

  • At Place du Château in Strasbourg, France

These celebrations offer a unique opportunity to engage with the public, share insights into the Agency’s mission, and demonstrate how digital innovation can uphold and protect citizens’ rights and freedoms across the EU.

If you're not in Tallinn or Strasbourg, there are still plenty of ways to take part in the festivities. Institutions of the European Union will host Open Days throughout May, offering visitors a behind-the-scenes look at how the EU functions. Highlights include:

  • Brussels: European institutions open their doors to the public on 4 May

  • Strasbourg: Celebrations on 9 May

  • Luxembourg: Events take place on 25 May

Details of events across all EU Member States can be found on the European Commission’s Europe Day portal.

Let us take this opportunity to celebrate our shared achievements and reaffirm our role in shaping a more resilient and united Europe.

Happy Europe Day 2025!
